Put your green city on the map in WWF's 2014 Global Earth Hour City Challenge

Although it seems like just the other day Vancouver was crowned the first Global Earth Hour Capital and People’s Choice winner, the recruitment phase for next year’s challenge has begun!
In this round cities in Brazil, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Korea and Indonesia will also be competing by showcasing the steps they’re taking to be greener, cleaner and more sustainable.
This year’s contest continues its focus on the specific actions municipalities are taking to transition to renewable energy sources – an integral part of a climate friendly future. Considering that over 70 per cent of all greenhouse gas emissions are generated by cities, we believe engaging with municipalities is an effective way to drive positive change now. And it’s a powerful way to start building consensus at a grass-roots level to advocate for the changes in provincial and federal policies that will be part of a long-term solution.
Put your green city on the Earth Hour map! This year’s Earth Hour City Challenge is a great way to:
