A champion fundraiser at only ten years old! WWF Canada November 22, 2013 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email At just ten years old, Chelsie Santoro has earned serious respect. An artist and philanthropist, this ambitious young nature-lover decided that she was going to organize a fundraiser, and donate the proceeds to WWF. © Mike Santoro Chelsie resolved years ago that she was going to do everything she could to make a difference for the environment. For example, for her tenth birthday she asked her friends and family to make a donation to help animals in need instead of buying her gifts. © Mike Santoro On the weekend of November 2 – 3, she held an auction of her paintings in Montreal. With the support of her family, friends, and neighbors, the exhibition was a huge success. By the end of the weekend, the show had been seen by more than 100 visitors. A full house! © Mike Santoro Chelsie’s goal was to raise $1,000 for WWF through the sale of her paintings. In the end, she surpassed her wildest expectations, raising more than $2,500! © Mike Santoro © Mike Santoro It was a big win for conservation, and Chelsie shares it with the 65 generous donors who bought her work, as well as all the visitors who contributed to the cause. © Mike Santoro On behalf of WWF, I’d like to thank and congratulate Chelsie for her determination, and her passion for nature.
