Reception and Customer Service Volunteer WWF September 27, 2011 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email Where: WWF-Canada’s Toronto Office (245 Eglinton Ave. East, Toronto) When: Starting immediately with a minimum 6 month commitment Shifts: One four hour weekday shift per week (see below for specifics) Responsibilities: Greet visitors to WWF-Canada’s office in a friendly, courteous manner and efficiently handle their requests Provide prompt, professional response to all inbound calls and direct calls to the correct person/department Accept all inbound mail and couriers as necessary Assist with outgoing mail processing Occasionally make outbound calls to donors with donation related issues Assist with internet research and administrative projects, as needed Experience and Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with experience making outbound telephone calls considered an asset Excellent phone manner and professional disposition Previous clerical or administrative experience in an office environment preferred Working knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word) Proven ability to carry out multi-step instructions accurately Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential Post-secondary education preferred Applicants must be 18 years or older when applying Training: Detailed training will be provided to all selected volunteers when they begin their placement In addition to role-specific training, volunteers will receive an orientation on WWF-Canada’s mission, guiding principles and conservation initiatives Phone scripts for speaking to donors and leaving voice mail messages will be explained and provided along with technical training Character Profile: Friendly, positive and outgoing individual who can effectively communicate with a broad range of people including donors Motivated team player with an aptitude for solving problems Keen learner with a strong interest in environment conservation and a passion for creating positive change Benefits: Learn about WWF-Canada’s exciting conservation work and ongoing initiatives Acquire a deeper understanding of environmental issues and proposed solutions in Canada Develop skills and build experience in a leading environmental non-profit organization Network with like-minded peers and professionals Attend special events and lectures by WWF-Canada staff Shift options: Tuesdays 1 pm – 5 pm Wednesdays 1 pm – 5 pm Thursdays 1 pm – 5 pm Fridays 9:30 am – 1:30 pm Fridays 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm Next steps: If you are interested in applying, please fill out the Reception and Customer Service Volunteer application form.
