Intern, CN Tower Climb for Nature WWF October 18, 2019 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email Position Description The Community Giving’s Intern, CN Tower Climb for Nature will play an instrumental role in supporting the community fundraising efforts and events which seek to engage the Canadian public around conservation issues and inspire fundraising as an important part of conservation. This role will engage, inspire and steward fundraisers, event participants and donors by fostering a connection to the brand and WWF’s work. This role will support key events and fundraising campaigns and will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on new initiatives. This role supports a wide range of programs and requires an individual with a diverse skill set. Key Responsibilities CN Tower Climb (CNTC) • Work cross functionally across the organization to support recruitment, fundraising, and engagement strategies via customer service, outreach, event logistics and marketing initiatives • Research and update current team prospect lists • Recruit teams via phone, email and in person for participation in the event • Contribute to the planning and development of the event including brainstorming ideas, producing reports and tracking and reporting on key performance indicators • Support the Specialist, Events as needed with logistics, event day duties and post-event wrap up • Other duties as assigned 3rd Party Fundraising and Community Engagement Events • Assist the Associate Specialist, Community Giving in engaging 3rd party event hosts and participants as required, including but not limited to site visits with panda mascot, poster distribution and outreach activities • Provide fundraising support to participants as needed • Support the administrative processes of the programs including database updates, mailings, phone calls, etc. • Aid the events teams as needed with event logistics, event day duties and post-event wrap up What We Are Looking For • University Degree or College Diploma in fundraising management, marketing, or event management and 1-2 years of relevant experience • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with and meet deadlines • Basic understanding of cross channel marketing and how to use multiple channels to communicate with audience • Positive attitude and able to work well with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders • Motivated self-starter who can work independently • Experience in non-profit or public sector an asset • Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience using Raisers Edge an asset • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed • Understanding of conservation issues in Canada considered an asset • Previous office experience preferred Other Information This is a 6-month full-time contract position based in Toronto, commencing January 6, 2020.
