Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup – Event Day Volunteers WWF May 4, 2018 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email Event Details The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw, is a joint conservation initiative between Ocean Wise and WWF-Canada. Since 1994, hundreds of thousands of Canadians from coast to coast to coast have rolled up their sleeves to remove over 1.2 million kilograms of litter, helping to make aquatic ecosystems safer and healthier for all living things. Event Locations, Dates and Times These events are happenning in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. Pick the location that is closest to you. Toronto, Ontario – Saturday June 2 from 8:30 am to 2 pm Vancouver, British Columbia – Sunday June 3 from 8:30 am to 2 pm Mississauga, Ontario – Sunday June 3 from 8:30 am to 2 pm Ottawa, Ontario – Sunday June 3 from 8:30 am to 2 pm Longueuil, Quebec – Sunday June 3 from 8:30 am to 2 pm Please note exact locations within each city will be advised by the second week of May. Position Details We are looking for Event Day Volunteers to provide logistical and engagement support alongside WWF staff, including: Event set-up and tear down Greet and engage participants as they arrive, and throughout the day Register participants upon their arrival Assist with gathering and distributing cleanup supplies to the participants Crowd control Experience and Skills There is no formal experience required for this role, just bring your passion and enthusiasm! WWF-Canada will provide you with an introduction package, and introduce you to your Staff Event Coordinator. The ability to move some awkwardly or heavy display equipment and materials is greatly appreciated! As this is an outdoor event, volunteers are asked to dress according to the weather.
