Scheduling green into your hectic life

This has happened to me many times because I’m naturally pretty forgetful, and I’m usually rushing out the door because I’m late for something. And from what I hear in conversation with the community groups I work with, they have the same problem as their lives are just as busy.
So how do you remember to be green when our daily lives aren’t really set up for it? My answer was to create a system that takes into account my forgetfulness, so I don’t need to be organized in order to be green. I did this in two ways: I made a checklist of things to remember that I taped to the back of my door and see every time I leave my apartment (click on the right tab to get a Good Life one!), and I set up a ‘station’ by the door full of the things I’m always forgetting. Things like my reusable mug, reusable bags, containers, snacks, my metal water bottle, and other essentials that I almost always forget. This way, I don’t have to be organized, and I no longer drink coffee cups full of shame. And for the record, they taste way better now.
