Pleasant Road & Eglinton Avenue East) Start Date: Immediate Commitment: 4 hours/week; 1 day/week – flexible Duration: Ongoing Purpose: The Development team is undergoing a pilot project to transition to a streamlined shared drive organization system. The goal is to use this work as a prototype for transitioning the entire organization to a new, more efficient way of storing data in the shared drive. We are looking for a volunteer to help us review/vet and reorganize existing files as we transition them from the old system to the new one. Impact: By assisting with the transition to a more streamlined shared data system, the volunteer will help: – Increase efficiency in the Development team’s day to day tasks – Make it easier for new staff to become acquainted with the shared drive -Complete a pilot project which will eventually lead to a reduction in the data storage space required by the whole organization Responsibilities: – Meet with the project’s coordinator to learn about the new filing structure and review what files are stored where in the current file structure. – Go through all the files in the Development shared folder and, in collaboration with the project’s coordinator and other members of the Development Team, get agreement on where they belong and then move them to the appropriate new folder. – Identify and move files/folders that can be put into an archive folder Experience and Skills: – Excellent attention to detail – Demonstrated computer proficiency – Strong organizational ability – Ability to use personal judgement to make informed decisions Learning and Development Opportunities: – Will learn about the organizational system of the Development department – Gain insights into the day to day activities of the Development department Benefits: -Significant contribution to the work of WWF -The opportunity to interact with WWF-Canada staff PLEASE NOTE: ALL office volunteers MUST be 18 years of age.
