Vancouver Triathlon Positions WWF July 5, 2011 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email WF-Canada is looking for volunteers to fill a variety of positions prior to and during the Vancouver Triathlon. As there are a number of different positions, we recommend that you carefully read the descriptions of all the positions prior to signing up. Please be sure to note the date, start time and location of the positions. Learn more about the Vancouver Triathlon as a whole and all the amazing benefits of volunteering. Event Day Positions (Sept 5th) Transition Marshall Dates & Times Available: Monday, Sept. 5th, 6:00AM to 12:00AM Tasks: You will be responsible for the transition area, the central hub of the race and ensuring that this area remains safe and secure for the athletes as well as directing athletes to the bike/run routes. Notes: You should feel comfortable speaking to crowds, giving directions and be able to stand for a prolonged period of time. Bike Marshall Dates & Times Available: Monday, Sept. 5th, 6:00AM to 11:00AM Tasks: Direct athletes along bike route and cheer on their progress. Also let members of the public know that a triathlon is in progress. Notes: Volunteers will be outside on the race course. You should feel comfortable speaking to crowds, giving directions and be able to stand for a prolonged period of time. Run Marshall Dates & Times Available: Monday, Sept. 5th, 6:00AM to 12:00PM Tasks: Direct athletes along the final leg of the triathlon. Also let members of the public know that a triathlon is in progress. Notes: Volunteers will be outside on the race course. You should feel comfortable speaking to crowds, giving directions and be able to stand for a prolonged period of time. Team Captain Tasks: Help WWF-Canada staff ensure that one team of Marshall Volunteers are at their stations on time and that their area is safe for the athletes. We will select one volunteer from each Marshall team to fulfill this role. If you are interested in being that volunteer please check the Team Captain box on the application form. Notes: This is a position best suited for someone comfortable dealing with large groups and giving directions. This position requires someone with previous triathlon volunteer experience (preferably Vancouver Triathlon). You will be asked to attend a training session in Stanley Park prior to the event.
