Calling all Toronto music-lovers! WWF March 13, 2013 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email By Carly Digweed, Communications Intern, WWF-Canada In case you haven’t heard, WWF’s Toronto Earth Hour celebration will be in Roncesvalles Village this year. We are thrilled for this event for a number of reasons – a big one being the amazing group of talent we have planned for the evening: Liam Titcomb, the Lucas Stagg Band, Andrew Huang, and the Etobicoke School of the Arts show choir, SPLASH! Not to mention, the return of last year’s Earth Hour em cee, Garvia Bailey! © Greg Overholt / WWF-Canada Each of these performers will bring something different to the stage. Here’s a little summary of what you’re going to see… A folk festival rug rat, singer/songwriter Liam Titcomb grew up backstage. Liam was signed to Sony Canada when he was 15. Now 25, Liam is a seasoned and respected musician. Lucas Stagg is a powerhouse songwriter. He and his band have refined their craft, becoming a well-oiled machine that has been burning down crowds nightly – a true Canadian roots-rocker. Andrew Huang, composer for WWF’s Earth Hour Anthem, ‘When the Lights Go Down,’ is a Toronto-based new media artist whose work is a distillation of his passion for music, video, and audience engagement. As the 2012 Show Choir Canada Champions, SPLASH combines music, dance, and drama, which showcases the talents of the Music Theatre Department from Etobicoke School of the Arts. Wanting to hear voices like her own – the voices of young, socially, culturally and politically active women of colour – Garvia Bailey has veered towards the cultural end of storytelling, covering the vibrant arts and music scene for both CBC Radio and TV. If you’re looking for a fun, all-ages Earth Hour celebration, join us in Roncesvalles Village on March 23 at 8:00 p.m. Visit wwfcastg.wwf.ca for all-things Earth Hour, including more details on the event.
