Five reasons to plunge into a frigid lake
It’s February, and that means WWF’s Polar Dip is just around the corner. On Feb. 25, 2016, at Toronto’s Balmy Beach Club on Lake Ontario, some of our top corporate fundraising teams will take the plunge for a good cause.
Don’t escape the Canadian winter. Join us and embrace the cold at WWF’s third annual Polar Dip for the Arctic. Bring your colleagues, your boss and your CEO for one of the most fun events of the year.
Here are the top five reasons why you should sign up now for WWF’s third annual Polar Dip for the Arctic:
1. It’s the coolest activity you’ll do all year
By doing the dip, you’ll be the talk of the office. Not many people can say they’ve jumped into a lake in the middle of winter.
2. Break the ice with your coworkers
Meet new colleagues by telling them about your dip, or invite them to join you. You might get some useful or unexpected tips to keep warm on the big day.
3. It’s an excuse to bring delicious treats to work
Fudge igloos, polar bear cupcakes, hot chocolate – it’s a fun and delicious way to spend your afternoon coffee break and fundraise while you’re at it. It really is just too sweet of an opportunity to pass up.
4. Watch your boss take the plunge
There’s something oddly satisfying about watching your boss go jump in a lake.
5. Support WWF’s work to give life in the Arctic a healthy future
By joining the Polar Dip, you’ll help WWF increase our efforts to protect important Arctic marine areas, like the Beaufort Sea and Lancaster Sound. Fundraising for the dip this year will double your impact as all donations will be matched, dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor (up to $137,000).
