Going the distance for the CN Tower Climb WWF April 17, 2012 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email It’s the week of the CN Tower Climb– which means that the WWF-Canada Toronto office has been bustling with volunteers helping out in the office, staff members skipping the elevator to start their training in the stairwells and email inboxes chocked full of stories from WWF supporters who will be stepping up this weekend. I heard from one climber who is coming all the way from Ohio with her family to take on the challenge and raise money for environmental conservation. CN Tower Climber Amanda Gustafson and her husband, Todd. (C) Phil Prosser Photography “On March 3rd, 2011 I completed my 1st stair climb in Cleveland, Ohio along with my boyfriend Matt and his brother in law Todd. We had so much fun that when we got home we started looking for another climb, but decided we needed one a bit more challenging. Matt and Todd climbed the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, Nevada last year, but that race had already come and gone this year. We found the CN Tower Climb and once we read the details and checked our calendars we registered right away. After we signed up, Matt’s brother in law and sister also registered. So on April 19th, passports in hand, we’ll make the drive from Ohio to Toronto, 9 of us in all, including 4 kids! We decided to make a weekend of it and it will be a family affair as well. We are excited for the challenge of climbing and glad that it is supporting a great cause as well.” – Amanda Gustafson. Good luck to the Gustafson family and we’ll see you at the starting line!
