Hydro One launches new green team

 
This year, the Greener Choices team saw an opportunity to expand their efforts and build a deeper connection with employees through the development of a local green team at their Toronto head office.  This team will be tasked with organizing employee events and campaigns which would allow general employees to actively participate and contribute to company’s green efforts.
 
Earth Hour was the perfect time to launch this new team.  Hydro One has always promoted Earth Hour, but this year, the newly formed Trinity Green team wanted to take it to the next level, and organize an employee event.  This would be the team’s inaugural event.
And what a success it was!  On March 26, employees were invited to come and make an Earth Hour pledge along with their peers.  Those who made a pledge took a photo with our panda, and stuck around to enjoy some coffee, treats, set to music and Earth Hour images and videos in the background.  There was a tremendous turnout with almost 300 employees coming out to join in the festivities.  It was not only a successful launch of a new team, but it was also a platform to bring a large number of employees together which demonstrated the collective desire and interest to do more in support of conservation.
