I got sweatered
On February 17, we are encouraging Canadians to turn down their thermostats by 3 degrees, and wear a fun sweater. National Sweater Day is an easy way to show your friends and family that small changes can make a big difference in helping the planet.
You can “sweater yourself” on Facebook using our new app, and use your profile pic to help spread the word. Want some inspiration? Check out this hilarious album of photos from supporters who got sweatered today.
Yes, the sweaters are silly – but our message is serious. If every Canadian turned down their thermostat in the winter, we could save 2.2 megatonnes of carbon dioxide per year. That’s like taking 350,000 cars off the road.
So find a virtual sweater on Facebook, and dig out a real one for February 17 (not to mention tomorrow, Ontarians!).
