Independent review shows science is robust, but more transparency needed

Last week, the world’s media reported on the result of the final enquiry into the so called ‘Climategate’ story. Here’s what some of the UK papers had to say on the subject:

The debate came to the fore late last year, when the credibility and findings of climate science came under extreme scrutiny, following the release of emails stolen from the Hadley Centre climate research group at the University of East Anglia (December, the so-called Climate Gate). This was further exacerbated by real and alleged inadequacies in the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th Assessment Report (AR4), which dominated the media in early January. However, a separate Dutch inquiry, which was held into the UN’s climate science panel has found “no errors that would undermine the main conclusions” on probable impacts of climate change.
