Keep warm while keeping the planet cool: National Sweater Day, February 17 WWF Canada January 19, 2011 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email On February 17, we’re asking you to turn down your thermostat by three degrees for National Sweater Day. Turning down the thermostat even a little can make a big difference in fighting climate change. In fact, if every Canadian turned down their thermostat in the winter, we could save 2.2 megatonnes of carbon dioxide per year. That’s like taking 350,000 cars off the road! You can help spread the word at school and at work by wearing a quirky sweater to show your support for the planet. You’ll also be able to get “sweatered” with a fun new app on Facebook. Like our fan page now to stay in the loop. We’ve got lots of surprises (and prizes!) coming soon.
