National Sweater Day: Calling all grannies! WWF Canada January 14, 2013 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email Last February, over a million people across Canada turned down the heat and put on a sweater to show support for taking action on climate change. If all Canadians lowered their thermostats by just 2 degrees Celsius this winter, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 4 megatons – equivalent to a shutting down a 600 mega watt coal-fired power station – while helping families save about 13 percent on their energy bills. WWF is inviting all of Canada’s lovely grannies to audition for our call centre. So if you’re a grandmother, nonna, bubbe, nana, or grammy – or you’d like to get your own grandmother involved – dial 1-855-FIND GRAN and simply leave us a National Sweater Day reminder message.
