Thousands climb the CN Tower to support WWF WWF Canada April 16, 2011 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email It was still dark when the first climbers started arriving this morning. AND it was raining. But that didn’t dampen the spirits of 5,000 people who patiently lined up for their chance to climb the tower. (c) Sara Falconer/WWF-Canada As I walked through the crowd with our panda mascot (who is always VERY popular), smiling faces and dancing climbers greeted us. It was a thrill for all of the terrific volunteers who took a turn wearing that furry black and white suit. We’ll have official results to share soon. In the meantime, check out photos from the event (including photos from the team climb on Thursday). Thanks to everyone who climbed, sponsored climbers, volunteered and spread the word about this event. We can’t wait to do it again next year… although I’m sure right now most of us can’t wait for a nap!
