Video: Living Planet @ Work WWF Canada November 26, 2010 Share: Share This Page: Share with Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Linkedin Share in email In my role as employee engagement manager, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with and provide support to a number of green champions who are leading the program at their respective companies. Through this work, I am seeing firsthand the incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work and efforts required to develop and implement a new program within an organization, least of all one that aspires to reach and engage every employee within the organization on sustainability. What has impressed me the most is the seemingly never-ending perseverance of the company champions, without whom this program could not succeed. Driven by their enthusiasm and passion for protecting the planet, these champions have – on top of and outside of their official role within the organization – demonstrated their ability to lead and inspire their green team; creativity in coming up with fun activities to engage their staff; resourcefulness in overcoming barriers; and the aptitude for building support for the program across all departments and levels of the organization. The role of green champion for the Living Planet @ Work program is such important work in driving the shift towards sustainability – and it is no easy task! This emphasizes the opportunity we have at WWF to offer our support to these champions – through the Living Planet @ Work program – by providing inspiration, tools, opportunities to share and learn, and celebrating successes. Check out this video to learn more about the program and how we are supporting our green champions!
